Quána Madison is an artist, mindfulness teacher, healing arts workshop facilitator and self-leadership coach. She combines inner wellness practices with expressive arts to promote creative expression, community and holistic well-being. A graduate of New York University and Colorado College, Quána holds a MA in Education and a BA in Philosophy.

Enjoy a public art tour and art making adventure at City Park!

For this program, we’ll look at the “Iridescent Cloud” by Haddad Drugan.

Using craft sticks, craft wire, yarn, beads, and sequins,

we will explore creating our own 3D art mobiles inspired by the public art.

 

July 2nd, 11:00 am - 1:00 pm

Enjoy a public art tour and art making adventure at Denver Botanic Gardens!
For this program, we’ll look at a Dale Chihuly glass artwork called “Colorado.”
Using pipe cleaners, straws, colored popsicle sticks and foam cubes,
we will explore creating our own 3D art mobiles inspired by the public art.

July 9th, 11:00 am - 1:00 pm

Enjoy a public art tour and art making adventure by the Denver Art Museum!
For this program, we’ll look at the Scott Angus “Cow and Calf” by Dan Ostermiller.
Using oil pastels, an variety of construction paper, magazines and
googly eyes, we will explore creating our own animal or creature art inspired by the public art.

Enjoy a public art tour and art making adventure at Denver Botanic Gardens!
For this program, we’ll look at the “Flower Girl” sculpture.
Using clay we will explore creating our own 3D art sculptures inspired by the public art.

July 23rd, 11:00 am - 1:00 pm

Enjoy a public art tour and art making adventure near the
Denver Public Library Central/Civic Center Park! For this program,
we’ll look at the “Yearling” by Donald Lipski. Using an assortment of
small objects and toys, we will create our own miniature installation art inspired by the public art.

 

July 30th, 11:00 am - 1:00 pm

Enjoy a public art tour and art making adventure at Denver Botanic Gardens!
For this program, we’ll look at the “Boy and Frog Sculpture” by Elsie Ward Hering.
Using markers, colors pencils and sharpies, we will explore creating our own
2D self-portrait drawings inspired by the public art.

 

August 6th, 11:00 am - 1:00 pm

Enjoy a public art tour and art making adventure near the Denver Art Museum!
For this program, we’ll look at the “Big Sweep” by Claes Oldenburg.
Using watercolor paints, pens and mixed media paper, we will explore
creating our own 2D representational art drawings inspired by the public art.
