Young artists are taking the lead in Access Gallery’s latest exhibitions! Access Gallery is excited to present Beautiful Complex, a group show featuring artists participating in our summer internship program. For this self-directed show, Access Gallery’s 10 interns developed their unique artistic styles with mentorship from Access artists, volunteers, and staff. The artists explored a wide swath of art styles from fine line and complex backstories to focused color schemes and wandering imaginations. Audiences are invited to explore what fascinates this group of young artists.

Each year, Access Gallery's summer program provides youth between the ages of 16 and 21 with an eight-week creative internship that is both paid and career-focused. During this time, interns develop artwork in their preferred medium, style, and subject matter and explore advocacy, professionalism, art skills, and job development.

Participating Artists: Ana, Branden, CF, Jocelyne, Kelis, Kira, Manuel, Max, Orion, and Sophie

Giving Voice is a program designed to empower youth living with disabilities and give voice to a social cause that is important to them. This can be a personal experience, frustration, or a global issue. Through collaboration with a professional graphic designer, youth can express something important to them and work with someone who will listen.

Access Gallery, AIGA Colorado, and local graphic designers have collaborated on this annual poster design program since 2006. Giving Voice matches teen artists with disabilities and graphic designers for a multi-session poster design and mentoring workshop. The program then culminates in a gallery exhibition each year. This year’s exhibition features 10 artist and designer pairings and covers topics ranging from womanism (a form of feminism), cleaning up your trash, mistakes of mankind's past and how to fix them moving forward, peace, self love, and always having hope.

Participating Artists: Ana and Jon, Brandon and Courtney, Caden and Allie, Kelis and DPA, Jocelyne and Amy, Kira and Audrey, Manual and Andre, Max and Gannon, Orion and Mikey, Sophie and Victoria

In addition to our exhibition in Denver’s Art District on Santa Fe, Access Gallery is thrilled to present a retrospective exhibition of posters from Giving Voice in the Denver Art Museum’s Creative Hub! This exhibit celebrates our commitment to teen artists with disabilities and our ongoing partnership with AIGA Colorado. Access to the Creative Hub is included in general admission to the Denver Art Museum and audiences are encouraged to see the exhibit now through December 2024.
