Meet The Artists

Jaida

Access Gallery Artist since 2006

Open for Commissions

Jaida has been practicing art for 11 years. Her interest was piqued while exploring artwork online and becoming inspired by the “different types of work and fandoms and how other people did original types of work.” Through careful consideration of this approach she develops “Stories I do believe were told—but my own take on those stories.” Jaida also leverages the internet for researching techniques to continue the trajectory of her primarily self-taught art practice.. “I had to learn how to draw human faces—doing research on youtube.” Entertainment is fundamental to her work with respect to the audience “I thought I could entertain someone” and personally “It’s just like artwork I do for fun. It’s a spur of the moment thing.”

Artist Statement

Future-forward Jaida is focused on her artistic legacy, and the mark it will leave in her wake. She approaches her artwork with equal parts storytelling and graphic style renderings. ”I tell a story whether it’s a good story or not. I just tell them. Whether people take a lesson is up to them or not.” Jaida’s unique narratives are often conceived from existing works she has read and then re-interpreted into her fresh tales with her own viewpoint. Fright is a tool she uses to connect the audience to the work. “Horror. It’s a medium I can tell stories in different kinds of ways. I thought I could entertain someone.” Jaida brings narratives to life through a variety of mediums including digital art, painting and drawing. Her bold, graphic style is the thread of consistency throughout her works regardless of medium.
